American mobile data is pricier than in most countries — which makes the gap between roaming and an eSIM even bigger. Plan for distance.
Networks
Roambee connects to partner networks AT&T and T-Mobile. Cities and interstates have solid coverage; national parks and the Mountain West have real gaps on every carrier, so download offline maps.
Hotspot on a road trip
Hotspot is included on every plan. A laptop navigator plus music streaming uses about 1 GB a day — budget around 7 GB for a week on the road, so the 10 GB plan.
Calls
The plan is data-only; use FaceTime Audio or WhatsApp. Your home SIM stays active for incoming calls if you keep it on, but turn its data roaming off.
Canada and Mexico
Crossing into either? The North America plan covers 3 countries. For a US-only trip the local plan is cheaper: 10 GB costs €28.90 against €33.90 — about 15% less.
